Our Story
Frontier Climbing Company was founded in Little Rock, Arkansas in 2024 by local area climbers Blane McClellan and Walker Bedell. Blane and Walker had each begun their own journeys in 2023 to gain their Single Pitch Instructor certifications through the American Mountain Guide Association.
Blane was initially seeking his certification to be able to safely and responsibly take groups of students and their families climbing outside for his work with the American Scholastic Climbing League of Arkansas. Walker was seeking his certification in order to start his own guiding operation in Arkansas and launch a new career doing what he loved. Blane and Walker coincidentally ended up taking their SPI course and exam at the same time.
During that time spent together, they realized they had the same dream and would make an awesome team. With over 25+ years of rock climbing experience between the two of them, many years of practical business experience and a passion to get more people rock climbing in the Natural State, Blane and Walker launched Frontier Climbing Company, the first and only guided rock climbing operation serving Central Arkansas and the River Valley.
